As Nigeria prepare to take on Mozambique Monday in the round of 16 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has urged his team not to duel on their impressive 100 percent in the group stages.
Chelle who was named best coach of the group stages maintained that the Super Eagles need to keep their focus on what is coming ahead as they strive to be in the final.
“We are here for something bigger and better. We will not get ahead of ourselves and think we are the best,” Chelle stated.
“We will continue to work hard and stay focused for every match as it comes.
Meanwhile Black Mambas of Mozambique have accepted the fact they are the underdogs of the tie to being decided at the Fez Stadium.
In group F Mozambique lost to Cameroon 1-0 and Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 before scraping a win over Gabon 3-2 to squeeze themselves into the round of 16.
“We have shown that we have a strong and competent team. Against Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon, we failed the details, but now it’s kill-kill.
“Nigeria are favourites but let’s face the game with humility, tranquility and lot of responsibility. We’ve come to this stage with respect, now we’re going to show what we can do,” said Mozambique head coach Chiquinho Conde.
