Super Eagles coach has urged midfielder to keep supplying his sublime passes which has proved to be the catalyst of the team’s attack at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles’ attack has proved to lethal in the tournament; so far, the team has won all their games and as they take on Algeria in the quarterfinal on Saturday, Chelle praised the contributions of Iwobi urging him to focus on delivery.
Iwobi created the two goals in the group C opener against Tanzania and against Tunisia he his passes set the tone for the attack. He was also brilliant against Mozambizue in the round of 16.
“You know, there are some players who can smell the danger on the football pitch. This guy has an IQ, a very big football IQ, ahead of the other players,” Chelle said during a chat on Elegbete TV Sports.
“Technically, he’s very good too. Since the AFCON started, we’ve seen that this guy is a very good player and he likes the team.
“The most important thing is that he does this game after game. We have to stay focused, Alex has to stay focused to continue to work, to want to be better than the last game, and that’s the question
“I’m very proud of him, and the team as well.”
