Ahead of Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final, hosts Morocco has allegedly subjected their opponents Senegal to some discomfort in Rabat.
The Senegal Football Federation (FSF) Saturday wrote a protest letter to the CAF accusing the host federation and local organising committee of making life difficult for its players.
According to the FSF there was no security for its team when they arrived in Rabat, exposing players and staff to unnecessary risks. Also, they were allocated a rundown hotel but were later given a suitable accommodation after they protested.
More worrisome for the FSF was that the Teranga Lions were denied access to training in the designated complex, as it serves as the base camp for the opponent Morocco – they see sporting fairness at risk. The Senegalese national team has also not yet received an alternative training ground.
Finally, the FSF criticized the severely restricted ticket access for their own fans, further fueling the atmosphere before the final match.
