A quack doctor Kehinde Olawuyi and his wife Eniola Olawuyi are now guests of the Ondo State police after a pregnant woman died in their unregistered clinic in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.
The 28 years old woman only identified as Iyanu according to the police bleed to death during childbirth due to the mishandling of her case by the unqualified couple.
“The Ondo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that it has commenced investigation into an alleged case involving the operation of an illegal medical facility in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State,” said a statement signed by Ondo State Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh.
“On January 18, 2026, at about 6:00 pm, a report was received from a concerned citizen in the Sabo Area of Odigbo, alleging that one Kehinde Olawuyi, 36, and his wife, Eniola Olawuyi, were operating an illegal medical clinic at Orita, Odigbo.
“According to the report, the suspects admitted one Iyanu, female, aged 28, on January 4, 2026, at about 12:00 noon for delivery at the illegal facility.
“It was further alleged that the suspects unprofessionally handled the medical procedure, resulting in the victim losing consciousness and bleeding profusely.”
Jimoh said the woman was immediately rushed to another medical facility in Odigbo for emergency treatment but was later confirmed dead.
He added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were not registered medical practitioners, confirming that the facility was operating illegally.
“The suspects are currently in police custody, and the case will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation,” Abayomi added.
