Nigerian singer Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, a.k.a Fave, has claimed that promoters are refusing to organise her show because of the Islamic Ramadan fasting period.
According to Fave, she planned a show for March 13, 2026, to mark her birthday, but she cannot go ahead because of the fasting period.
“So I was trying do a show in Nigeria on my birthday this year but they’re telling me shows aren’t allowed during Ramadan? I’m a little confused,” Fave wrote her X social media platform.
In a follow up post, she added: “I started this year wanting to do my first show in Nigeria on my birthday as an independent artiste and back-to-back, promoters kept sending word to my team saying the same thing.
“I grew up in the south and never heard of Ramadan practices till I was in my late teens. I respect all religions. But I’m Christian and I really want to do this on my birthday so if you’re reading this and are open to organize, I’d be so happy.”
But music fans on Facebook are not buying her story.
Yakaka Yerima: “Is the show strictly for Muslims? No one will stop you from holding a show during Ramadan, even in the North. “People can simply choose not to attend because they are fasting. Let’s be careful not to mix things up or give a wrong impression about a religion we may not fully understand.”

Dc Kemzy: “Fix your show for night possibly 8pm and it will be a bangar both the Muslims and the Christians will attend so you have nothing to worry about.”
