A South African woman will appear in Court on Monday to face charges for the gruesome murder of a Nigerian Bolt driver and student Isaac Satlat.
Satlat from Plateau State Nigeria was strangled to death by car jackers who ordered a ride but later attacked him while in motion.
The distressing video of the assault captured on his cab dashboard camera caused outrage on social media. Satlat could be seen struggling for his life as a male passenger in the back seat strangled him, while the female passenger at the front seat searched his pockets for valuables.
The incident occurred on February 11 in Pretoria
“The police have arrested a female suspect after an e-hailing driver was allegedly killed while inside the car in Pretoria West on Wednesday, 11/02. More arrests are imminent as the police investigation continues,” a statement by South African police on Friday said.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was murdered by a male and female who had requested the services of an e-hailing driver in Pretoria West. The hijacked vehicle and the body of the victim were found in Atteridgeville on the same day.”
The suspect is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday February 16, facing charges that include car hijacking and murder.
