Olympique de Marseille president Pablo Longoria is said to be keen in signing Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle on a four-month trial.
According to reports in France Chelle would be handed a one-year extension if he is able to win third place in Ligue 1 and win he French Cup. It was gathered that Chelle who led the Super Eagles to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has also applied for the job.
“Marseille president Pablo Longoria is strongly interested in having Eric Chelle as new head coach.
“It’s centred around a four-month contract, to include a performance-based clause for a 1-year extension should Chelle win the Coupe de France and secure 3rd in the league,” wrote Sports journalist MikeThePundit on social media platform X.
But Nigeria Football Federation secretary-general Sanusi Mohammed dismissed reports linking Chelle to the Marseille job.
“As far as I know, there is nothing like that. We are not aware of any contract between Chelle and Olympique Marseille,” Sanusi.
