Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is asking the Nigeria Football Federation to pay him $100,000 a month, if they want him to continue.
The coach who was recently linked to French club Olympique Marseille indicated that he would love to stay on as Super Eagles coach but with offers most especially from the Tunisian federation who are ready to contract him to lead the Carthage Eagles to the World Cup and beyond, it is difficult to maintain his current $50,000 a month contract with the NFF.
NFF sources said the federation in the coming days will hold talks with Chelle whose profile rose after he led the Super Eagles to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. According to football experts the Super Eagles were the best team of the tournament.
Meanwhile Chelle is not top consideration for the Olympique Marseille job according to club sources former Aston Villa and Newcastle defender Habib Beye is top choice for the coaching role.
