Kelechi Iheanacho came on from the bench and made an assist as Gabriel Jesus grabbed a brace in Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.
Wilfred Ndidi was on for all 90 minutes for the Foxes and they couldn’t contain Arsenal in the entertaining encounter. Jesus scored twice before the break and missed several chances for a hat-trick as well assisting his side’s other goals.
William Saliba’s own goal early in the second half gave Leicester hope, but Granit Xhaka struck just two minutes later to restore Arsenal’s two-goal lead.
Leicester were awarded a penalty before half-time when Jamie Vardy and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale collided, but the decision was overturned by referee Darren England after consulting with the video assistant referee.
Vardy was replaced by Iheanacho in the 70th minute. His introduction gave the Foxes more bite, and in the 74th minute his good work provided James Maddison with the chance to size up Ramsdale before shooting between his legs to give his side hope again. But Gabriel Martinelli quickly made it 4-2 as the Gunners maintained their 100% start to the season.
