Nigeria Army troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested an individual suspected of supplying Boko Haram terrorists with drone and other logistics.
According to reports by security expert Zagazola Makama the suspect identified as Dauda Usman Gubula was arrested during a raid at the Madagali Motor Park, Madagali Local Government Area of Borno State. Items recovered from him include two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks.
Meanwhile in another operation the troops in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters, ambushed Boko Haram fighters and a commander Abdullahi Mafa, was killed. The operation took place on Thursday when troops engaged suspected Boko Haram fighters along the Visik River line.
The Boko Haram insurgents were out gunned by the troops and their helpers. Several fighters were killed but there was no word on the casualty suffered by the security agents.
Operation HADIN KAI, which is the Nigerian military’s counter-insurgency campaign in the North-East, has in recent months increased collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters to curb insurgent activities in affected communities.
