Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has blamed the club’s 3-0 loss to Leeds on ‘huge’ individual errors.
To make matters worse, summer signing Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off eight minutes before time meaning he will now have to serve a suspension.
Speaking on BBC Five Live after the match, Tuchel said: “We could have closed the game down in first 20 minutes. After that it was an even game, then we gave two gifts away. What do you expect if you present two goals to an opponent in the Premier League.
“We give goals away from huge individual errors too often. It is what it is. This is the squad. My energy goes to the squad we have, we try to make the squad better, but if we don’t we fight what we have.
He added: “It is the transfer period and things are always crazy. We didn’t see it coming. We got frustrated because we had a good start, created huge chances, but we got frustrated.
“We conceded the first goal and then after the second one almost lost the match there and then.”
