Shocking details of how taekwandoist Uchenna Raphael died

The remains of departed taekwondo player Maria Uchenna Raphael would be lowered into the earth on September 8 in her home State Enugu.
Uchenna Raphael, a certified Black Belt featherweight,  died on August 27 in Lafia, Nasarawa State shortly after winning a silver medal at a tournament held at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Bayelsa State.
According to her mentor and coach Bright Paul Kayode the 26-year-old Uchenna Raphael returned from Bayelsa a happy woman on August 26, but death came calling the next day in a tragic twist of fate.
“She returned safely home on August 26 to Lafia from Bayelsa State where the championship she attended and won a silver medal was held,” coach Paul narrated.
“On getting home at noon she rested and later freshened up to go and get herself something to eat,  putting on her sister’s top wear.
“Shockingly the following day August 27, the sister found a picture of Uchenna Rahpael posted with RIP inscription on Facebook. The sister  was able to identify Uchenna Raphael’s lifeless body with the top dress she wore.
“She now went to town to investigate what happened only to find out that her sister had been crushed to death with another commuter who was on the same motorcycle with her, but the rider of the motorcycle  was not seen around.
“It is a painful loss to us all in taekwondo, because this was a very promising player, before the Bayelsa tournament she was also in Lagos where she won another silver.”
