President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to restore with immediacy the reallocated Oil Mining License OML 46 belonging to Bayelsa State.
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission had transferred the Atala Marginal Oil Field ( OML 46) to Halkin Exploration and Production Company Limited. The NUPRC failed to present an approval letter from the President on the reallocation when the Senate committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, asked it to justify its action.
Bayelsa governor Duoye Diri and his predecessor Seriake Dickson were guest of President Buhari at Aso Rock Wednesday to press for the return of the OML 46.
“I will respond to your requests as quickly as possible,” Buhari was quote as saying.
Apart from the OML 46 request the Federal government, according to the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, will also take over the Bayelsa State Medical University and speedily complete three Federal roads in each of the Senatorial Districts.
