Radio France International will start running an exhibition on late Fela Anikulapo Kuti starting October 15.
Scions of Afrobeat king Femi Kuti and his son Made Kuti are special guests. And there would be a Father-son cross interview at the Afrobeat Rebellion Exhibition Philharmonie de Paris about Fela, the Black President of the Republic of Kalakuta.
Fela social crusader was a musical genius he died at 58, in 1997, but has left a long lasting musical legacy, he was a committed artist and many times imprisoned, iconoclastic and sulphurous personality, Fela Anikulapo Kuti is one of the great figures of black music celebrated in Paris.
A tireless slayer of military regimes and multinationals, which he accuses of having ruined his country Nigeria, Fela thought of his Afro-beat music as a weapon: the weapon of the future. To the sound of our archives, we offer you his musical and political portrait with his French biographer François Bensignor.
