Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola felt happy that his side was able to get all three points at the Etihad Stadium after playing with ten men for most of the game against Fulham.
Erling Haaland from the penalty spot smashed home the winner in the 95th minute as Fulham looked good to leave City with a point.
Guardiola’s side took an early lead through summer signing Julian Alvarez, but looked like they might be in big trouble when Joao Cancelo took down Harry Wilson in the box.
The full-back picked up a red card as the last man, and Andreas Pereira slotted home, with Guardiola giving Cancelo a dressing down on the touchline.
Speaking to talkSPORT post-match, the Spaniard said: “I’m surprised most for 65 minutes the way we played, of course at the end when we won everything is better, but the way we played for 65 minutes is just… take a lesson, the only lesson I want to learn from today is finish the game 11 against 11. This is what you have to improve.
“[We had] chances and everything, even against Fulham. I think they wanted to [attack] but they could not do it.
“At the end the quality you have, our build-up play with Bernardo [Silva], with Manu [Akanji], with Nathan [Ake], with all the exceptional players that we have to keep the ball helps us.
