Victor Osimhen turned around a likely defeat at Atalanta and handed his club Napoli a delightful 2-1 away win.
Napoli are now eight points clear on top of the Serie A table.
The Super Eagles striker had a hand in all three goals scored in the encounter. With handball he had conceded a penalty in his own box and his national teammate Ademola Lookman smashed home the first goal of the match.
However, Lookman’s joy was short lived as Osimhen turned the game around four minutes later with a headed goal off a Piotr Zienlinski corner. He was back again in the 35th minute to set up Eljif Elmas to score from 10 yards.
Osimhen with his goal has become the highest Nigerian striker in the Serie A with 32 goals. Simmy Nwankwo is second with 31 goals. And Obafemi Martins is third with 28 goals. From the going Osimhen would likely extend his tally, he currently tops the Serie A goals scorer chart with eight goals.
