Victoria Enwemanya beat her coach to win gold in the 501 single category of the darts event as competitions of the 21st National Sports Festival began in full swing.
For young Enwemanya making her debut in the NSF and winning the gold for Delta is a dream start to her career in sports.
“I’m very excited by the gold medal and I am looking forward to more gold in the Festival,” said Enwemanya.
Her coach who settled for silver, Patricia John also express delight at her protege’s win.
“Well I’m so excited she won. It shows that I am doing a very good job.
“We are looking forward to winning more gold medals.”
Ogun State athlete won the bronze.
Competition continues in the dart event where 18 gold medals are at stake in the men and women categories
