Ghana captain Andre Dede Ayew was relieved to find out that his daughter was well and ok after she fainted during the Blacks Stars Uruguay last group game of the World Cup. According to reports Ayew’s seven years old daughter collapsed as he missed a penalty against Uruguay, the Black Stars at the end lost 2-0 to the South Americans and their hopes of reaching the round of 16 vanished. Ayew and his brother Jordan did resume with the team for the second half of the game, it was not clear whether it was because of the fainting incident. After the game Ayew rushed down to the hospital and discovered that the girl had recovered and was doing well. Andre released a statement via his Instagram account 24 hours after the game, detailing the misfortunes he is going through, including the death of his “godson” before the game against Portugal. “Our final group match result was not what we were looking forward to in the tournament, but unfortunately, it ended up this way,” the statement said. “Personally, it has been very difficult for me in the past few days. I lost my godson the morning before the Portugal game, and my daughter was also rushed to the hospital after the Uruguay [game]. Thanks to the Almighty Allah, she’s getting better.”
