Argentina has two games to glory and they are banking on Lionel Messi to take them to the dream land, this is the view of defender Nicolas Tagliafico.
Argentina have stubborn Croatia to deal with in Tuesday’s semi-final at the Lusail Stadium. A win will draw Messi close to his dream of winning a World Cup before hanging his boot. It is the only title that has eluded him in his illustrious career. At 35, the PSG star has indicated that this could be his last World Cup.
“He’s our captain, he’s our leader, he drives us, he motivates,” said Tagliafico
“When we go out on the pitch and know he’s with us, it motivates us. We’re going to have to suffer – to live it, but also enjoy it.”
He added that should the game end up in a penalty shootout they are banking on Emiliano Martinez to pull out crucial saves like he did against the Netherlands.
“We trust Martinez so much. But you can never be too calm, we know what is at stake. We can always be sure that Martinez is always there to support us.”
