Lagos State Traffic Management Agency has cleared traffic congestion at the foot of Ojuelegba flyover following a container accident that left eight people dead on Sunday. Before the trailer carrying a 20ft container fell on a commercial bus at the Ojuelegba Bridge, Danfo buses usually stop at both ends of the Bridge to drop or pick passengers, thereby causing traffic. But on Monday morning the traffic was fast flowing and there was no sign of the buses on the Bridge. Tragedy struck on Sunday when a trailer lost control and the container it was conveying landed on the Danfo bus that was picking passengers at the foot of the Bridge, killing eight people on the spot. As Lagosians were trying to recover from the sad occurrence it was reported that another trailer fell along the Iyana Paja road. There was no mention of causality as officers of LASTMA arrived on the scene to manage the situation.
LASTMA said, “A 40ft container laden truck fell at Sawmill inward Dopemu under bridge, occupying 90 per cent of the road. Our men are on ground doing the needful as effort is on for recovery.”
