Pastor Aigbe Uche of the House on The Rock in Abuja is now a guest of the police for carrying a police AK-47 rifle to the pulpit on Sunday.
The policeman Musa Audu who handed him the gun is also facing investigations and trial for the episode that shocked members of the congregation and others watching on social media channels.
Audu could be dismissed from the force as the Federal Capital Police Commissioner Sadiq Abubakar has insisted he must be punished for misconduct. He also already made a report to the Inspector General of Police Usman Baba. Pastor Aigbe had mounted the pulpit with the gun on his shoulder, he told his congregation that he was prepared for certain people who wanted to give him trouble.
“Today, there are some pastors with the gift of divination who go about ripping people. This is why we should carry our ‘guns’ and defend ourselves. I will particularly be coming very soon for some of you sleeping in the church,” he said during the service.
