HURIWA wants FG to hurry her release

One of the senior commanders of the terrorists that hijacked an Abuja-Kaduna train on May 28 is said to have fallen in love with 21-year-old Azufa Lois John.

Miss Lois John is one of the remaining captives of the train attack and according to a spokesman to Sheik Ahmad Gumi, Tukur Mamu the ‘bandit’ is seriously planning to forcefully marry the young lady.

But the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has urged the Federal Government to do all it can to rescue Miss Lois John and the others still remaining in the hands of the terrorists.

According to a statement released by HURIWA’s National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, on Saturday, the group would sue the Federal Government and report the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. HURRIWA said this was another case of Leah Sharibu playing out.

Tukur Mamu disclosed that the bandits are asking for a N100m ransom to release Miss Lois John.

“HURIWA gives the Federal Government of Nigeria 24 hours to secure the release of 21-year-old Azurfa Lois John, said to be the only young Christian victim and lady among the hostages. The government must take both non-kinetic and kinetic actions (as attested to by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu) to secure her prompt release.”
