Ogun State House of Assembly speaker Olakunle Oluomo was arrested this morning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, at the Murtala Mohammed Airport.
Oluomo was picked up at the international wing of the airport at about 9.00am as he tried to board a flight.
He was immediately loaded into a commercial flight to Abuja where according to the EFCC, he would be quizzed over the allegations of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds.
” Our speaker was arrested by operatives of the EFCC earlier this morning,” a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly was quoted by the Punch.
” From what I gathered, he was alleged to have been involved in misappropriation and embezzlement of funds.”
