The family of a slain Joint Task Force commander,  Mallam Babagana Tela has been given a house and N10m cash donation by the Borno State governor  Babagana Zulum .
Babagana Tela was killed in June 2022 by Boko Haram fighters in an ambush  in the Bama area of Borno State. The JTF fights side by side with the Nigeria Army in their efforts to dislodge terrorists who are operating in parts of the State.
Prof. Zulum visited the family of the slain commander and paid tribute to Babagana Tela for sacrificing his life to keep  Borno safe.
He directed the release of N10m for the family’s upkeep over a period of time, directing that the family opens an account with joint signatories, to which the N10m would be deposited.
“This is a very small reward for all that Babagana Tela did in his contributions to returning peace in Bama and by extension Borno State and Nigeria,” the governor said.
