World record holder in the women 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan is shifting her focus to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
To this end, Amusan and her handlers have trimmed the number of races she would run in the build to the Games in August.
“Her major focus is the Olympics and how she can win the gold.
“And so her coach and managers are selective of the races she participate and it is not up to anyone else to question why she is not running in this race or the other,” said coach Solomon Aliu.
Amusan would be heading to China April 20 to race in the first Diamond League of the season in Xiamen.
She would be contesting with some of the women she would most like compete with at Paris 2024.
They include Danielle Williams, Jasmine Camacho-Quin who won the Olympics 2020 gold and Deyvnne Charlton world Indoor champion.
Amusan who set the world record of 12.12 seconds at the 2021 World Championships in Oregon, USA, is one of the favourites to win the gold, the only medal missing in her collection.
In March she participated in the African Games where she won her third consecutive African Games gold with a time of 12.89secs.
