AC Milan have made Victor Boniface their plan B, if they fail to land Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee in the summer.
The Italian giants are looking for a striker that would replace departing Oliver Giroud, whose contract expires in June and according to sports daily, Corriere dello Sport, Milan have Boniface in mind, they cannot sign the Dutch-born striker.Also Juventus are reported to be interested in Zirkzee and Boniface according to Football Italia via Tuttosports. Zirkzee is born of a Dutch father and Nigeria mother and he is open to playing for the Super Eagles.
Boniface is a long-time Milan target. They had tried to sign him from Union St Gilloise but failed to reach an agreement with the striker’s entourage, giving way to Bayer Leverkusen to secure his signature in a deal worth over €20m in 2023. According to the report, Boniface’s transfer value is around €40m-€50m.
Boniface is contributing to Bayer Leverkusen’s impressive campaign with 16 goals and nine assists in 25 appearances across all competitions. His contract with the Bundesliga leaders expires in June 2028.
