A British couple has made an appeal to Nigerian internet scammers to stop terrorizing kids in that country with ‘sextortion.’
Mark and Ros Dowey whose son Murray Dowey took his own life after he was scammed to send his nude pictures said the Yahoo boys are abusing children and this has to stop.
Murray Dowey, from Dunblane, was only 16 when commited suicide last year after being blackmailed with his nude pictures.
Sextortion often involves victims being sent a nude picture or video before being asked to send their own in return.
“You’re abusing children. You’ve ended Murray’s life,” Mark and Ros Dowey according to BBC reports.
“How would they feel if it was their child or their little brother or their friend? I mean, it’s so cruel, and this is children, and it’s abuse”.
“You’re terrorising people, children, for some money, and I don’t think in any society that is in any way acceptable”.
