Football fans around Lagos had a ball of fun as they watched their respective clubs begin their 2022/23 English Premier league season.
Those who were fortunate to enjoy the opening day at the Ojez Jersey Day and Rep your club event held at the Ojez Sports Cafe and Night club Railway Recreation Ebute Meta, spoke about their experiences and joy at seeing their clubs start their campaign on a good note.
Some of clubs represented include Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal who had already concluded their game with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Friday.
“It was a good outcome and the day went exceedingly well.
“Almost all the big clubs had a beautiful start to their campaigns and their fans were so happy about it.
“We look forward to an amazing season,” said Effiong Nyong a co-organiser of the event.
Chelsea and Alex Iwobi’s Everton was the star match of the day. The Toffees were hard done by a penalty goal, which spoilt an otherwise good outing for Iwobi. All the watching fans agreed the Super Eagles midfielder had a beautiful game for Everton.
Speaking on the event the Chairman and managing director of the Ojez Entertainment Group, Joseph Odobeatu enjoined football fans to enjoy the season, promising that the Sports Cafe will provide a very comfortable environment for fans to watch the matches as they unfold.
