Burna Boy, Tems and Asake top the Nigerian artists listed to received awards in the 2022 Music of Black Origin Awards billed for November 30 at the OVO Arena London.
The awards started in 1996 by Kanya King who borrowed money to start the show. Artists like Lionel Richie, Sade, Beyonce and Rihanna have previously won the award meant to honour music of black origin.
Other Nigerian athletes nominated include are Adekunle Gold, Rema, Omah Lay, and Fireboy.
“It’s a proud moment to see MOBO Awards return to London for our big 25-year milestone, which will see us celebrating our legacy, as well as paying it forward to the biggest stars of the scene,” said MOBO founder Kanya King CBE in a statement.
“25 years ago I put my house and sanity on the line to make the first MOBO Awards happen at the Connaught Rooms and what an incredible journey it has been.”
