Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has cancelled his proposed political campaigns in Ondo and Ekiti States.
Mr. Obi and his entourage were due in Ondo and Ekiti is weekend but according to a statement made available to journalists the Party said : “Due to some unavoidable and unusual circumstances beyond control, our earlier scheduled presidential campaign rally in Ekiti and Ondo for 15th and 16th December 2023 is hereby postponed. A new date will be announced. We regret the inconvenience caused by this.”
On Tuesday, Mr. Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed were in Lokoja, Kogi State, they didn’t get the kind of reception they wanted as the venue was half empty. The Labour Party has been struggling to keep it campaign on full throttle as dwindling finances has made it difficult to catch up with campaigns of rival Parties the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Labour Party has failed scheduled campaigns in Niger, Kwara, Bayelsa, Rivers and Cross River. Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, and Sokoto states.
