Nigerians wishing to travel to the United Arab Emirates are now free to do so after the Arab nation lifted the visa ban placed on Nigeria and other African nations two years ago.
The visa restriction was lifted on March 4 according to a joint statement by the UAE and the Nigerian governments.
Starting from March 4, 2024, all Nigerian applicants for UAE visas are required to first obtain a document verification number. This essential step according to the UAE is to be completed by visiting the dedicated online Document Verification Hub platform https/documentverificationhub.com).
UAE Ambassador to Nigeria Saleem Saeed Al-Shamsi gave more hints on the development.
“We are committed to facilitating straightforward and expedited visa applications for Nigerians. The introduction of the Document Verification Number is designed to enhance the integrity of our application process and ensure prompt processing for all applicants.”
The UAE slammed the brake on the issuance of visa to Nigerians and some other African countries in 2022 due partly to the COVID 19 epidermic and the unwholesome activities of Nigerians in that country
