A former militant leader and a governorship candidate in the 2023 elections  Sobomabo Jackrich was whisked away by security agents from his country home in Usokun Community Degema LGA of Rivers State.
Two of his associates were reportedly killed in the skirmish with the security agents dressed in military uniforms and driving in military vehicles. They arrived at Jackrich’s resident at about 3.00am Monday morning. His whereas about and reason for arrest remain unknown. His kinfolks claimed that he was kidnapped by men in military uniform.
However, speaking on the development Rivers Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, said: “He was not kidnapped but arrested by security personnel, though not by the police.”
She did not, however, specify which security agency apprehended him or if any casualties occurred during the operation.
