Two persons are feared dead after being flung into the Lagos Lagoon when the 18-seater Volkswagen LT bus they were traveling crashed into the railings of the Third Mainland Bridge Wednesday.
The bus according to eyewitness was on top speed and the driver lost control of the vehicle, which was inward Lagos Island near Adeniyi Adele axis on the Third Mainland Bridge.
The Lagos Territorial Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, who confirmed the incident said that personnel of the Marine Police were in search of the two adults, a male and female.
“The victims, an adult male and female, are being searched by the Marine Police.
“However, by now, we are not looking at search and rescue again, but recovery.
“This is because the male passenger was said to have floated about three times before he was finally drowned, while the woman did not even surface at all.
“Therefore, the possibility of anyone of them surviving is slim,” he said.
