Rivers State Police Command said Thursday they have eliminated a notorious gang leader Peter Chukwu who shot and killed Ndidi Livingstone, Community Development Committee Chairman, Mgboshimini in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
In January 2024 Mr. Livingstone, was dragged out a church service and was shot in front of wife and kids by the gand lead by Chukwu popular known as Daddy Chukwu.
Before the killing the CDC chairman, the gang went on a shooting spree in the community, murdering 22 other persons back in October 2017.
Rivers Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, told news reporters Thursday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, that Daddy Chukwu was cornered in Ibusa, Delta based on credible intelligence.
“Officers of this command gathered intelligence and operatives comprising of Rivers State tactical teams, the Intelligence Response Team with the assistance of Delta State Police Command stormed his hideout in Ibusa, Delta State.
“He was found hybernating in the residence of his herbalist where he went for spiritual fortification. He put up a fierce resistance, and in an attempt to escape, he was fatally wounded, and he succumbed to the injury before arriving at the hospital.”
