The Ghanaian community in Lagos marked the nation’s 67th independence Day anniversary in Lagos.
The occasion was held at the Jewels Event Centre in Lekki phase one, Lagos. Top dignitaries from the ECOWAS region, including the UK high commissioner, Sierra Leone were in attendance.
Also present were top entertainers like Sunny Neji, Ejike Asiegbu , Moji, Mama Ajasco and a few other friends.
Speaking at the occasion, special guest of honour Joseph Odobeatu, chairman/managing director O’jez Entertainment Group commissurate with the people of Ghana on the passing of the Ghana High Commissioner to Nigeria, Rashid Bawa and went on the highlight the friendship and brotherly love between Ghana and Nigeria.
“The friendship between our two nations and people dates back to pre-colonial times, covering politics, culture, music, and sports. The rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana is also legendary and nostalgic,” said Mr. Odobeatu.
” For instance if you read or follow the on going 13 th African Games in some media you will think that it is a competition between the two nations, even in an international friendly played in Marrakech Morocco a few days ago, the story wasn’t different.
“Consequently, we believe that such collaboration and friendship should be elevated or expanded to include some more areas beneficial to the citizens of both Nigeria and Ghana.as well as expanded to include other nations in the Economic community of west African States (ECOWAS).
“Therefore, the O’jez group as a business is interested in the promotion of small and medium enterprises to enhance commerce and provide employment and business opportunities.
“On a practical not, we are attracting our other partners such as
Beadys word productions the convener of Business Summit and fairs, to join with the Ojez group to assemble African SME’s with big online listings of African products and annual events to grow African indigenous products, ideas and services. These impactful proposed gathering of SMEs in Africa, is aimed to support bilateral trade, free movement of African products, networking, and bridging the business, ideas and cultural knowledge gap all in a bid to position Africa for the world and fight poverty.
“We wish to signpost the fact that we have 0’jez in Accra, Ghana and willing and ready to grow interest and interests in culture entertainment, sports, fairs, music, facility development, construction , maintenance, and engineering.”
